FAQs for Songbooks
FAQs for Songbooks at Flying High Music
Q. When can I expect to receive my Songbook(s)?
On weekdays, we aim to dispatch your order within 24 hours of receiving it. Orders received at the weekend will be dispatched on the following Monday.
All UK deliveries are made using Royal Mail First Class Postage which aims for next-day delivery, providing dispatch is made before 1pm.
All European and Rest of the World deliveries are made using Royal Mail International Standard delivery:
European deliveries should arrive within 3 to 5 days of dispatch.
Rest of the World deliveries should arrive within 6 to 7 days of dispatch.
The stated delivery times should be used as a guide only and are not guaranteed. Flying High Music cannot be held responsible if delivery times exceed the stated times.
Q. What size are the Songbooks?
For ease of use, especially for pianists, our books are a little larger than standard A4 size at 305mm x 231mm.
For convenience, our books will open flat on a piano music stand.
Q. How is the music organised?
The score for each song features a piano version, the melody line, lyrics and guitar chords. Any additional instrumental parts are located at the back of the book. Each songbook includes an accompanying CD with two versions of each song, one with the voice and one without.
Q. Are inspection copies available?
Unfortunately, due to Copyright issues, inspection copies are not available.
Q. How can I download and use the lyrics for teaching and performance purposes?
Lyrics are available as free Powerpoint Presentations for each song. When you place your order, we will e-mail you a ‘wetransfer’ link that gives you access to the files. You can then save these onto your devices and use them as teaching resources. Please note that after approximately one week, the link is removed.
Displaying the lyrics on screens for assemblies or public worship normally requires a CWCL or CWMRL licence from CCLI and more information on this subject will be available in due course.
In the meantime, and for a limited period only, we convey the right to display words on screens for Assemblies and Public Worship and performances where members of the public, including parents, are present.
Q. Can the music scores be photocopied or reproduced?
All the music is subject to Copyright. However, we convey the right to copy the instrumental parts for Empathy, Friend of God, Sunshine Song and A Helping Hand, which are located at the back of the Songbooks.
No other music scores can be photocopied or printed.
Q. Do I need to log the use of a song on our CCLI licence?
For a limited time only, our songs can be used in assemblies without logging them on the school/church CCLI licence. However, Flying High Music will be contacting you in due course to inform you that this situation is reversed and that every performance of each of our songs should be logged in the usual way.
Q. How do I return an item?
We would be surprised if you wished to return a Songbook/CD because we believe our products are of the highest quality. In addition, the website where you placed your order has audio excerpts of every song as well as song samples from the book itself and the product is clearly ‘fit for purpose.’
However, under the Consumer Rights Act, your right to cancel an order for goods starts the moment you place your order and ends 14 days from the day you receive your goods. You then have a further 14 days to send the goods back. You have a right to a refund within 14 days of us getting the goods back or you providing evidence that you have returned the goods to us, on condition that the goods are in a saleable condition i.e. undamaged.
If you wish to return the goods because they are damaged in some way or because we have sent them to you in error, please refer to the terms and conditions for the procedure.
Please note that our Audio CDs are created using duplication technology where a laser “burns” a master disc’s content directly onto Grade A media discs. All of our CDs conform to the Red Book or Yellow Book standards – the industry guide that governs the specifications and parameters of CD manufacture and every disc is checked for playability to ensure there are no errors. It is, therefore, highly unlikely that a CD will malfunction in any way. If you encounter a problem when playing your CD, please ensure that your equipment is working correctly before considering the return of the item.
Q. How do I pay for my order? Currently, you can pay for your Songbook using either a debit or credit card or through your PayPal account.
UK schools have the option to supply us with a Purchase Order Number, generated by the school’s finance department. The name of a contact person within the finance department should be included along with a contact number. Once the order is confirmed, we will dispatch the goods and generate an invoice to the school requesting payment in full and within 14 days.
Q. Do you offer any other services to individuals, bands, schools or organisations?
Yes!
Flying High Music is all about musical composition and song-writing and we can create a bespoke piece, including lyrics based on your input and an instrumental backing track, to celebrate and promote your school, church or organisation.
We can also create arrangements and scores of songs that you have written.
Please explore these options on the website and use the contact form if you would like more information.
Flying High Music is committed to producing further, original, high-quality songbooks for schools and churches so do check the website for any new publications.
Q. Can I buy additional CDs?
Yes! You can purchase additional CDs on the pay page.
Q. Can I alter the music in any way?
The music for every song is subject to Copyright and cannot be altered in any way.
How do I order a song(s) in a different key?
Using our Contact Form, you can order a song score and backing track – instrumental only – for any song in any key that you require.
The score would be supplied as a pdf attachment to an e-mail and the backing track supplied in mp3 format for playback on your computer or device. Currently, the charge for one transposed song, supplied in both formats, is £4.95.
Having received your order, we will generate an invoice and e-mail it to you. On receipt of the payment, we will send you the song(s) as requested.
Flying High Music cannot accept responsibility if your equipment is unsuitable for the stated formats.
Q. Is special permission required to use the backing tracks?
CD backing tracks may be used in the classroom for teaching purposes, in assemblies and for internal, public performances, including those given to parents. They should not, however, be shared, in any way, beyond the purchasing establishment. Please see the terms and conditions for further information.
Q. Are Flying High Music Songbooks available internationally?
